Zeynep Boyan is a Turkish-Dutch artist and designer based in Munich, working at the intersection of sculpture and design. With a focus on form, texture, and structure, she hand-builds each piece using centuries-old techniques and process-driven materials.

With a background in cinema, Boyan brings an eye for spatial composition and storytelling to her practice. She works primarily with stoneware clay, using intuitive and physical methods to create lighting, furniture, and sculptural objects. Often left unglazed and richly textured, her surfaces reflect a deep commitment to process and material, each piece carrying an inherent sense of autonomy and presence.

Having lived in Istanbul, Brussels, Montreal, and Munich, her work is shaped by a material vocabulary that reflects the diverse cultural and spatial contexts she has inhabited. Her practice explores how objects define space, carry meaning, and function in everyday life. Architectural references and ornamental details recur throughout her work, shaped through slow, deliberate methods of making.

Boyan’s work has been exhibited internationally in Berlin, Milan, Montreal, Toronto, Eindhoven, Dubai, New York, London, and Istanbul. In 2025, she launched the Monumental lighting collection with Luminaire Authentik, inspired by the legacy of ancient civilizations and the cultural heritage of pre-modern Turkey.
