The Accidental Weave 11 is part of an ongoing series in which de Brauw brings together fragments collected through her travels through traditional loom weaving and paper weaving. Unrelated remnants — marked by tire tracks, water stains, folds, or wear — are interlaced into new compositions that shift their status from refuse to resonance. Once woven, the materials form quiet narratives of passage, absence, and rediscovery. The works reveal how acts of attention and connection can transform the forgotten into something held, shared, and remembered.
