The term “ravine” refers to a natural landform created by erosion: a gorge formed by the ceaseless, repeated action of water on rock or earth. The persistent process of repetition that defines a ravine is reflected in Myriam Perrot’s production process, whereby porcelain rings are formed one after another before being connected. Through perseverance and repetition, an organic structure emerges that embodies a tension.The lightness and fluidity with which the interlaced structure unfolds stands in contrast to the robustness of the material itself, pouring out like a petrified stream of water.
