Myriam Perrot forms individual porcelain rings by hand and gradually connects them into long, chainmail-like strips for her new sculptural series Remous I – III. While each ring is fragile on its own, once interconnected and fired, the elements form a remarkably strong whole. This transformation lies at the heart of the work. Perrot shapes the strips into Möbius bands whose continuous surfaces turn back upon themselves. The title Remous, French for swirl or eddy, evokes both turbulence and stillness, giving physical form to states of movement, transition, and inner unrest. Through repetition and interconnection, fragility becomes strength, while the circular form holds movement and stasis in continuous tension.
